Society Protocol Season 2 09
Descendants of the Serpent 1
There was a time before humans came to dominate the world when they lived in harmony with all living creatures.
They were weak and lacked sharp teeth or claws.
They lived hidden in caves to avoid being eaten.
Fruit was their staple food.
They lived peacefully, enjoying sweet and delicious treats.
However, the sweetness of the fruit fostered the development of their brains.
As their brains grew, their hands began to develop in order to pick fruit.
They learned to climb trees and understand which fruits ripened at which times.
They even used branches to pick fruit from high trees.
And they began making baskets to hold the harvested fruit.
Later, to fight wild beasts, they struck stones together to sharpen them.
And they used these as weapons to protect themselves.
Humans began to use fire.
They were able to cook grains, which were difficult to eat raw, using fire and water.
Furthermore, catching grazing animals and roasting them over fire made them palatable.
They used fire to clear forests and weapons to drive away beasts.
Above all, humans began to help one another.
They joined forces to create large objects.
They built houses to live in and began making items necessary for daily life.
They also painted pictures, created sounds by striking wood, and danced to those sounds.
Humans now formed groups and, by joining forces, began to dominate the surroundings where they lived.
However, conflicts arose even among them.
These conflicts resulted in physical wounds, hatred, and dislike, leading them to engage in actions contrary to one another's behavior.
This hindered the development of their own group.
Therefore, the human possessing the greatest power became the ruler of the group.
Such a ruler began to lead the group.
As the group grew, being strong alone was no longer enough to become the leader.
Humans capable of commanding groups began to lead the herds.
As the number of herds in the surrounding area increased, fighting broke out, leading to a form of war.
At that time, the ability to command a herd alone was not enough to win.
Among them, the wisest human emerged and led the entire group.
Under the leadership of this wise chief, they began to develop their own systems.
They created tools necessary for daily life and determined their location by observing the stars.
As time passed, they began to record the changing seasons.
They selected creatures they could handle and began raising them as livestock.
They created farmland using easy-to-raise and edible resources and began farming.
As they consumed meat, they grew stronger and their temperaments became more ferocious.
To handle meat, they began to create sharper tools.
They also discovered a method to harden clay into pottery using heat.
They gained the ability to change the shape of metal using heat,
and groups that acquired even stronger war-fighting capabilities through this ability began to dominate the humans around them.
And as even more powerful and larger groups emerged, they could not be controlled by humans with merely high intelligence.
Therefore, among those who were strong, possessed leadership skills, and were highly intelligent,
cruel, despicable, cold, and ferocious individuals began to use language skillfully,
to deceive others and secure their own interests.
At the same time, humans continued to advance further.
Nobles emerged among humans, and social statuses were established.
They became a noble and lofty class distinct from ordinary humans.
Watching these changes in humans, the serpent felt infinite potential.
“Humans developing in this way will eventually catch up with God.”
The angel, stripped of all his power by God and cursed to become a serpent, was waiting for the day of revenge.
As they became his limbs, which were missing, and as the multitudes collectively gathered their wisdom,
they began to create even more wondrous things.
Humans built machines on a land where grass grew, stones rolled, and birds chirped,
and they built large ships and tanks.
Later, they even created things like flying birds and began making bombs with immense destructive power.
As humans began to compete with one another, they even found a way to fly into space.
The serpent was pleased.
Although they were still no match for God, if they began to change this rapidly,
it was only a matter of time before they would destroy and conquer the world God had created.
“As time passes, humans will eventually possess everything.”
In a corner of the world he had created, humans—like tiny specks of dust—were gradually increasing in number.
Although God knew that a serpent was lurking behind them, supporting them,
it was, in a way, only natural that they could not possess the ability to dare to oppose him.
However, just as humans could have their hands severed by man-made tools, and lose their lives due to objects he himself had created,
God did not know when or how he might suffer harm from the world he had made.
At the very least, the world he had created would suffer damage.
Therefore, God attempted to annihilate humanity by altering nature through typhoons, earthquakes, and volcanoes.
When that failed, he tried to wipe them out by causing a massive flood.
However, because humans were also part of nature, they had a role to play.
This was because they had the mission to reduce the number of predators that were too numerous.
So, he spared some of them.
Then, the surviving few advanced further and began to control the natural environment.
They altered rivers to suit their convenience, built dams, and filled in water with soil.
They also developed methods to purify polluted water.
Therefore, God attempted to exterminate humanity by ordering invisible microorganisms to do so.
However, humans found a way to kill microorganisms,
and eventually created devices like microscopes that allowed them to be seen with the naked eye.
They also developed defensive capabilities by injecting weak germs into their bodies.
Although God sent various diseases to kill humans,
humans utilized the effects derived from natural organisms to create medicine.
This was not what God intended.
If we consider the way humans die, we can anticipate God's system.
Humans die within minutes if they cannot breathe.
This means that if the atmosphere of this world disappears,
humans will no longer be needed at that moment.
If humans do not drink water, they will die after a few days.
This created an environment where humans have no choice but to live near rivers.
Even if they run out of water, they can survive if they move to a place with water within three days.
Therefore, it created an environment where they cannot leave far and are forced to live attached to that region.
However, humans created the "water container" and expanded their sphere of activity.
Humans die after a few days if they do not eat.
They could only survive by continuously killing something and eating its carcasses.
If all surrounding living things died, humans would have nothing left to eat, and then humans would naturally perish.
However, humans destroyed that system.
They began farming and raising livestock, thereby sustaining life by raising the very things they should have killed to eliminate from this world.
God was enraged watching humans engage in such acts.
Farming was the very thing that should never have been done.
This was akin to the police, who catch criminals, mass-producing criminals to sustain their own lives.
If crime disappeared from the world, the organization that catches criminals should also disappear.
However, it was akin to continuously farming criminals to create them.
Because there was too much grass, herbivores were introduced, and when herbivores became too numerous, carnivores were introduced.
And because if carnivores became too numerous, herbivores would disappear again and grass would overflow,
a higher life form was needed to hunt these carnivores.
However, forgetting this mission, humans eventually began to overpopulate the world with their descendants.
Now, the Earth's system could no longer kill humans.
The Earth's immune system was no longer able to defeat the virus known as humans.
Therefore, God had no choice but to intervene.
However, whenever God attempted to annihilate humans, serpents appeared and began to help them.
Ridiculously, these serpents created a system called religion,
and began to justify the system in which humans dominate the Earth,
as if it were an ability granted to them by God.
Humans were unstoppable.
Now harboring the ambition to leave the Earth they inhabit and fly into the entire universe, they continued to take on challenges.
God realized that He could no longer eliminate humans using the other creatures He had created.
Therefore, He concluded that He had no choice but to use other humans to ultimately destroy humanity.
So, God began to move Himself.
The descendants of the serpent were also aware of this.
They were observing God's movements in advance and continuously monitoring them.
God was so immense that every time He made a move, there were many things that needed to be prepared in advance.
They had planted sensors to detect such changes in various places and were monitoring the situation.
Even the snakes lacked the ability to directly confront the gods.
Furthermore, humans were like ferocious wild beasts capable of harming themselves, so they could not confront them directly.
Therefore, the snakes selected those with high intelligence from among humans,
and chose those who could restrain their desires and animalistic instincts from greed.
Simple beasts are difficult to tame.
However, if they responded to food and feared the pain of the whip, they could be tamed.
The snakes utilized material things, and this soon became the economy.
Since the snakes could not reveal themselves directly, they selected humans they could tame,
and needed to instill wisdom in them to make taming them even easier.
The snakes laid the foundation for humans to speak, use writing, and utilize culture.
And they had their accumulated knowledge compiled into books to be passed down to future generations.
It was difficult to accomplish everything at once within a human lifespan.
Therefore, knowledge was accumulated over generations.
The human brain's system retained childhood memories the longest.
So, they created schools to systematically develop and instill almost every technology available up to that point during childhood.
Humans also created laws.
They had to ensure that humans would not harm one another.
This was because if they started harming each other, their numbers would decrease.
At the same time, because they needed to advance, they used war as a means.
This was because humans would extract every ability within themselves to survive.
The snakes knew that this growth of humans would eventually be harmful to them as well.
However, they could do so.
This was because only the thought of taking revenge on God remained.
It was akin to raising a vicious dog to threaten a neighbor after a fight broke out.
It would be loyal when fed, but one never knew when it might bite when hungry.
However, snakes have ruled over humans with affection.
Humans, too, were loyal to the social system created by such snakes.
But as they became economically prosperous, humans began to engage in unintended misdeeds.
They were destroying themselves.
They stopped taking on challenges and became immersed in drinking, dancing, and having fun.
And while gambling may increase wisdom through the competition,
it is ultimately a zero-sum game.
Because it involves sharing what has already been created without any additional profit,
it did not contribute to social development.
Therefore, for humans to work properly, drugs and gambling had to be eradicated.
However, it was actually advantageous for society to let some violent and uncontrollable humans fall into drugs and gambling,
causing them to ruin themselves.
The serpent continuously attempted experiments on humans.
Humans were capable of using tools.
However, there were not many humans who possessed the ability to create the tools themselves.
So, the human organizations created by the serpents began recruiting new humans with such abilities.
They created tools.
These were the computer and the internet.
The human who created those tools did something incredibly clever.
They created a logo symbolizing the eating of the forbidden fruit from the Bible and scattered it throughout the world.
At first, the serpents were surprised, but no humans objected to it.
At least those who claimed to attend church would have expected to issue a statement opposing it.
However, since they were ultimately just part of the system created by the serpents, nothing happened. No, on the contrary, they were able to expand their territory by using the cutting-edge tools created by humans.
They were all descendants of snakes.
