Society Protocol Season 2 03
Just One Opposition
Ji Seo-hoon sat in the center of the video conference, testing his microphone.
It was a time to verify with the communications officer at headquarters whether they could see and hear each other clearly.
Since the connection was made directly via satellite, a certain degree of delay occurred.
Although it had been reduced significantly compared to the past, an error of about one to two seconds still occurred.
Therefore, when the other person finished speaking, he would raise his right hand to signal,
and the other person would respond to that signal with a question or answer.
It was decided that Ji Seo-hoon would first deliver his remarks regarding his inauguration.
Once the General Chairman of the headquarters hosting the meeting finished his greetings, the microphone was scheduled to be switched to Korea immediately.
Although there were several agenda items, there was a most important issue,
so that the matter would be discussed among those who needed it secondarily after the main meeting concluded.
The meeting began.
“It has been a while, comrades. As previously notified, we have received intelligence regarding the emergence of an organization that poses a potential threat. Based on the information we currently possess, I intend to hold a meeting to reach a conclusion on how to proceed, including several instructions for responding to them and details regarding their specific nature. We will discuss that after we are introduced by Korea’s new Captain. Congratulations, Seo Hoon.”
The microphone was passed to Ji Seo Hoon.
Now, Ji Seo Hoon’s image appeared on the monitors held by organizations around the world.
“Thank you, Mr. Stone. I would like to introduce myself briefly. I am Ji Seo Hoon, the newly appointed Head of the Korean Branch. If you need information about Korea or have plans to stay here, please feel free to contact me at any time. Also, if you need any information, I will reach out to you. When that happens, please do not turn away, and I hope you will provide assistance. Thank you for giving me this honorable opportunity. Thank you, everyone.”
After briefly concluding his business, Ji Seo-hoon raised his right hand slightly.
He had much to say, but since key figures from around the world were all waiting for him,
he could not spend any more time, nor did he have any reason to.
The screen split, displaying the global branches on a large monitor.
The people applauded, congratulating the new branch head on his inauguration.
The screen switched, and the US branch head appeared.
Since almost all members of the Americas branch were currently holding a meeting in person at the UK headquarters,
the broadcast was transmitted to the UK headquarters screen.
“Congratulations on your inauguration. I know you have accomplished a great deal. I have high expectations for your future, Mr. Ji. Then, let’s begin.”
The U.S. Branch Manager first displayed an internet website screen larger than his own face.
He relegated his face to a small square in the corner.
“The site you are currently viewing is our target. It is different from the other organizations that have emerged so far. Almost every organization was either directly or indirectly connected to us.
And in fact, most of them were organizations we created.
However, this case is completely different.
It is an extremist organization that we expected would inevitably appear somewhere but has not revealed its existence until now.
We currently suspect that their goal is not merely terrorism or the killing of people,
but to collapse this entire system we have built.
We made humanity the rulers of the Earth and held the belief that this was done as a form of God's will.
However, they seem to believe that destroying this society is God's will.
We have not yet reached a dangerous level.
Furthermore, the organization is not properly organized.
Therefore, I have submitted this proposal seeking your esteemed opinions on whether we should annihilate them before starting, or if we should observe the situation as it unfolds.”
The screen changed to one displaying the slogan, "[What to Do About MS]."
“To briefly explain the organization known as MS, it started with the premise of saving a million people,
but with the goal of destroying all of humanity, leaving exactly one million survivors.
Their key figures are as follows.”
A photo of pastors gathering at a Las Vegas hotel, taken at the entrance, appeared on the screen.
“This man is named Jackson, who appears to be the current leader of this organization and displays quite extreme tendencies. He is considered a person of interest as he seems willing to resort to violence.”
The screen was filled with a photo of Pastor Jackson.
“And regarding the figure named Branson, there is a connection to us; however, since he was the starting point of all these gatherings, it is difficult to classify him as a dangerous individual yet, but that does not mean he is safe either.”
A photo of Pastor Kang from Korea filled the screen.
“This person is Mr. Kang, and he is Korean. We do not have much information about him either. He appears to be a key figure in this organization, and I would appreciate it if Mr. Ji could obtain more detailed information.”
Ji Seo-hoon, surprised to see a Korean person present, looks at the people around him and gives orders to look after them.
“Based on what has been revealed so far, the core group consists of approximately 12 to 20 individuals who possess their own power. However, their subordinate organization is not solid, nor do they display any aggressive tendencies. Furthermore, it is still doubtful whether they could actually pose a violent threat. That is all.”
Ji Seo-hoon, who had been watching, had a question. He raised his left hand and asked.
“Mr. Ji, if you have anything to say, please do so.”
Ji Seo-hoon took the microphone.
“You stated that the organization is not yet established and that it is doubtful whether they could pose a violent threat, so I find it difficult to understand why you convened a general meeting.”
The General Chairman, who was standing behind the US Branch Manager, walked forward and took the microphone.
“I missed that explanation. Thank you for pointing that out.
They believe they have received a kind of divine revelation.
However, it was caught on the radar we planted.
It seems God still believes that He is controlling this Earth.
We all acknowledge that the system God created is great.
But this Earth now belongs to humans.
We have no intention of being subordinate to anyone or submitting in expectation of anyone's mercy.
We are striving to achieve our dreams and goals by creating what we need ourselves.
With just a little more effort, technology will be developed that can send humanity throughout the entire universe.
Then, humanity will be able to liberate other stars that are under God's control as well.
God is trying to break His own rule that He created the system but does not directly control it.
We had sensed this long ago and were continuously inflicting various disasters upon Earth to annihilate humanity.
But what happened?
Humanity never surrendered; instead, we overcame and continued He is protecting the entire Earth while spreading his descendants.
Having realized that he could not destroy humanity with all the calamities created by such a god,
we anticipated that he would now attempt to destroy humanity by using humans.
I believe that this has now become reality.
However, God, as expected, has not been able to escape from the egoism of loving himself.
He is reproducing exactly the same image of being extremely selfish and consumed by arrogance, selecting those who love him to carry out his will.
But he failed to account for the fact that times have changed and humanity has advanced.
To entrust such a heavy responsibility to a motley crew of nobodies, who lack both the ability and the talent to execute,
simply because they praise him.
It is so absurd that it makes me laugh.”
At the General Assembly President's remark, everyone present at the meeting laughed together. It was a form of mocking God.
“When we govern a nation, we select from among the most capable individuals.
We select the most capable people rather than those loyal to our organization, making them choose us of their own accord.
That is the difference between God and us.
It is no different from placing sycophantic courtiers who flatter oneself on the throne.
We have built a world for all humanity by suppressing, through force, those in power who are obsessed with religion, creating countless foundations and holding ceremonies praising God.
But now God is gathering the dogs that grovel to him to eliminate us? I am so dumbfounded I am speechless.”
As the laughter vanished from the meeting hall, the members wore expressions of rage.
“ However, the problem is that they are not wolves or a pack of jackals, but a flock of sheep.
If they were wolves or jackals, there would be absolutely no problem even if we killed them immediately.
On the contrary, they would be praised by people.
However, this flock of sheep has not done a single thing so far.
All they know how to do is praise God and are foolish beings who suppress the desires God created,
claiming it to be God's will.
Yet, while designing our social system, we encouraged the suppression of such desires and created laws to control them as citizens,
rather than as animals.
They are gathering humans who exploit the loopholes in our system, pretending to be weak and virtuous,
and using them like shields.
That is why they cannot be punished arbitrarily.
Now, we will begin a vote on how we should handle this.
Please press 1 if you wish to nip it in the bud,
and press 2 if you wish to just leave it alone and observe.
Let's begin.
All members will cast one vote each. I will proceed with the vote.”
All members raised their hands to indicate.
Raising one hand meant Number 1, and raising both hands meant Number 2.
Those without hands asked the person next to them for help to hold the pre-distributed sign.
“Please tally the votes from each branch, and branch leaders, please enter the results into the monitor.”
Ji Seo-hoon looked around at the people who had raised their hands. However, the result was completely unexpected.
The tallies from each country began to appear on the monitor screen like an electronic display board.
In the total tally, there was only one vote for Number 1. Everyone had chosen Number 2.
The person who cast the single vote was the person without arms.
This situation was a kind of shock to everyone.
In a way, the man in the most important position had chosen Number 1.
The General Assembly President came forward and announced the results.
“The decision for the meeting was made in favor of Number 2. However, if the member who chose Number 1 has anything to say, would you please speak?”
The armless member stepped forward in an electric wheelchair.
Ji Seo-hoon had only heard about it; this was the first time he was seeing it in person.
He was a more important figure than everyone else attending the meeting.
“I accept the outcome of the meeting. However, I am concerned. They will destroy all of you.”
The armless man muttered a single word in a low voice and stepped back.
The wheelchair had no control devices whatsoever.
It is known that it is being controlled by brainwaves from a helmet worn by the armless man.
All the meeting attendees were shocked.
The fact that he could speak so decisively meant that what he said actually posed a threat.
The General Assembly President hurriedly tried to wrap up the meeting.
“Thank you for your valuable words. We will conclude the meeting by deciding to observe the situation for now.
However, I believe no one will take lightly what our Grand Elder Member has said.
I will notify you again when the observation period ends.
You should understand the meaning of point number 2 not as simply ignoring the matter, but as a conclusion not to proceed with immediate execution.
We must always keep a watchful eye and never let our guard down.
With that, we conclude the main meeting and will proceed immediately with a discussion on additional incidental matters.”
Regardless of the outcome of the meeting, it was practically a state of emergency for everyone.
Almost every resource had to be mobilized to monitor their progress.
This was because history had proven that the Elder’s will was always right.
